Born and raised in Hong Kong, Indian painter Riya Chandiramani explores bold ideas present in today’s society with intricacy and wit. As a result of her culturally rich upbringing, notions of East meets West are prominent in Chandiramani’s work – a pastiche of traditional and pop-culture references. With a mission to bridge dated practices with modern concepts, Chandiramani challenges constructs and ideals that keep our civilisation divided.
