Riya Chandiramani's paintings explore bold ideas in today's society with intricacy and wit. Referencing iconography from both traditional and popular cultures, Riya's art consistently reminds us of how far we as a society have come, and how, in certain areas, we have a long way to go. Riya's mission is to bridge ideas of the past with modern times, whilst challenging constructs and ideals that keep our civilization divided and inhibit us from recognizing our true worth. Her current series explores the censorship, sexualization and creative powers of the female body.
